Hand made cart with hand cut tyres used for selling electrical goods. Shame about the front axle.

Sharing the screen with a street kid sidelined by a street performance in the central park (The park houses sloths, monkeys, macaws and other random endangered species. Placed in the park by the goverrment after the animals were caught in the process of being smuggled overseas to rare animal collectors. The local inhabitants look after the animals)

The local hairdresser three doors down from my hostel wears glasses an inch thick. A friend got his hair massacred only a few days back. Nick the Pom explained to me quite clearly that "It was a shit haircut". But you have to admit the man has style, I too considered a lopping but held back when he picked up the electrical clippers to start cutting my hair.

Father and son watching life amble by next to the basketballs courts.

I paused to take a photo and this guy wasn't up for it. I barely missed getting my head squashed flat into a telegraph pole directly behind me as he launched his load towards my head. The concrete bag exploded on impact sending up a toxic dust cloud. I slithered through the crippling air and ran hunched forward towards the nearest corner. Gunfire ripping off a chunk of wall right next to my neck and I turned into the second corner home free.

This man had his head on straight and was much warmer in reponse to the click of my camera.

Taganga, Columbia, 2005
A lazy fishing village on the north eastern coast. Fishing and soccer. Soccer. Fishing. The village basically consists of one giant family.

Between borders of Columbia and Venezuela, 2005
Crossing from the Venezuelan border. Just in case you forgot what I looked like.

Occasionally you find a young kid who's smile makes you forget about everything in the world.

Tayrona National Park, Columbia 2005
Rolling ocean slap at the sandy forest edge, occasionally tearing helpless 100 foot coconut trees from their fighting limbs.

Tayrona National Park, Columbia 2005
The interest in all things military invades the local insect culture. Millions of ants march over land to feed their families, risking fate of death in the shadows of the various snakes, Iguanas, birds, spiders and other lovers of six legged fine dining.

I spent 30minutes engrossed in a staring competition with this monkey, clambering through the trees with a few mates five metres above me.

Border town, Columbia 2005
The Customs officials from the border chaperoned me to their masters home to secure a signature granting me secure passage through Columbia. In the six kilometre journey they ran out of fuel. I doubled one man to the next fuel station. This kind old alcoholic in the picture assisted us in a hunt for an appropriate vessel to carry the fuel. Iam starting to realise how kind and considerate is your average Columbian. The face says it all. Happy to help.

More photos on the way... need some time to load these puppies before the boat to Panama.

Did you know that Guyana is actually pretty damn cool? Munch...on round things.
