San Juan Del Sur, Nicuragua - 21st April 2005
I got a flat that I was going to fix myself until I couldn't find my patch glue. Crap. Taking a breather after pumping up my rear wheel seven times. Using a bike pump you need to pump approx 300 times to get to 30psi. Times that by seven equals 2100 pumps in seven kms and one hour, with full moto gear, and almost half a tonne of weight on the bike. The mark on my eye was from the previous day. Bodysurfing four foot tubes in shallow waters. It was worth it.

Boat ride from Isla De Ometepe to San Jorge, April 2005
Strapping Wolverine onto yet another boat. Somewhere around 70 boats thus far. The boat boys insisted on taking the bike on and off the boat, and for the first time in almost two years didn't try to squeeze me for a cent.

Yamaha -Casa Pela, Managua, Nicaragua, April 2005
I met the owner of Yamaha on the Costa Rica/Nicaragua border. "Hey buddy, if you need any bike work, feel free to drop in." Do I need any bike work? HA! A new bike would be good. I reckon I would need to spend a good five grand to get my bike ship-shape. But yes, I did. My bearings were grinding, headlight broken, etc, etc. Alfredo here, worked his magic. His father was formerly the owner of Yamaha in Nicaragua, so he had grown up with bikes his whole life. The whole crew at Yamaha were amazing. Charging me barely nothing for a hell of a lot.
