PERU
Capital - Lima(Lake titacaca, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Tres Cruces,
Shintuya, Madres De Dios, Nazca Lines, Open tombs, Chan Chan,
Punta Sol
Iquitos, ZooPeru
4th November 2004

Finally showing the world my trouser snake. I figured it was time
I pulled it out.

Rocky the rampaging jaguar rules the roost at ZooPeru. I have
never seen a happier healthier cat in captivity in my life.

Monkeys marauding around their enclosure. The alpha male teaching
his sibling about BO (Body Odour) basics.

The little known intellectual River Otter sussing out the ph level
and ambient temperature of the water. Considering whether to dunk
his whiskers in the lukewarm waterway.

The three toed sloth busting out his own version of Ben Stillers
Zoolander "Iceman" pose. Attempting to hit on some passing
tourists.

Rocky moving in for a ball licking manouvuere. Why? Obvious answer.
He can.
A friendly toucan who attempted to swallow my video camera whole
when I got to close.
Rio Napo - Pantoja to Iquitos via Siempre Adelante (Always Forward)
28th October 2004 -

Siempre Adelante. The boat which safely carried me and my moto
through caiman and malaria infested water for Iquitos.

The hardened criminals who worked the boat drag a disease riddled
cow on board, unable to stand on its own accord. It proceeded
to eject infectious shit sludge all over the inside of the boat
for the remainder of the trip. Adding to the pleasant monkey,
rat, pig, chicken, snake, bull and sheep shit that already occupied
the premises.

The boat gang. L to R. Florence from Italy, me, Julie from New
Zealand, Lindsay from the USA, Kanga from New Zealand/UK, Manuella
from the French part of Switzerland and Steve the Pom taking the
photo. Random adventurers sharing a cup of tea from my MSR stove.
(I could have made a cracking business selling purified water
from the Katydyn water filter and tea and coffee from my MSR stove,
but they were all too nice, so I had to give it away)

Pied Pipering my way across some logs into local village camera
in hand. I have managed to acquire some mind bending footage which
I will reveal later.

7th October 2004 - Punto Sol
Tommy Boy and myself say goodbye one last time. After 8 months
of joint at the hip adventure riddled shenanigans
we separated for our own version excursions. Geoff tearing his
way through the Columbian interior dodging bullets to arrive in
time to claim his love for his Brazillian princess Tai currently
living in Florida. Whereas I continued on into the Amazonian interior
for some good hunting and gathering.

September 2004 - South of the Nazca lines
I fell asleep just south of the Nazca lines in an open tomb and
woke up to vultures ripping out my swollen pustulating eyeballs.
This is what was left of me and two people who tried to stop them.
(I flew back to Rio De Janeiro for some plastic surgery - and
am fit as a fiddle once more. Brazil is famous for its plastic
surgery)

August 2004 -Tres Cruces
A phenomenal vista spanning mountain to forest. The reflection
bouces from 3400metres straight down to the Amazon basin almost
3000metres below. A spine tingling perspective that oozes energerising
emotion. (I think I am addicted to alliteration).

August 2004 - Macchu Pichu
Geoff and I climbed Huaynapicchu (mountain next to Macchu Pichu)
from the wrong side in order to save money by not going through
the superexpensive ticket gate. Just as we got to the top one
of the National Parks Guides caught us and shoved the handle edge
of a shovel up Geoffs butt to get his attention as you can see
here.

The austere (I think this is the first time I have ever used this
word in my life) beauty that surrounds the magic Macchu Picchu.
Seriously well maintained grasslands frolick on the interior.

Sideshow Sally scene showcasing the magnitude of the site (Huaynapicchu
in the background where Geoff got the spade shoved up his butt)

The last rays of light passing over the extreme tips of the magic
mountain that is Macchu Pichu. One of the man made wonders of
the world.
Hmm. I think I might click here
to check out the Ecuador photos.
